Interesting to see what is the longest any of these fine men lived. I love Greenland! Greetings to my facebook Greenland friends Ulrikka Holm and John Kreutzmann. The Greenland Ice Sheet (GIS) is NOT the largest body of ice in the cryosphere (all the planet's ice regions. The combined masses of the East and West Antarctic Ice Sheets (EAIS/WAIS) comprise the largest mass of ice in the cryosphere, some 90% of the world's ice and yielding around 70% or the world's fresh water. All the of the ice masses of the cryosphere are in decline. All glaciers are retreating. Those in the northern hemisphere are retreating faster than elsewhere. And the GIS is thawing and as Arctic sea ice diminishes and the Arctic Ocean continues to warm, the GIS will continue to thaw. The Arctic Ocean is expected to be ice free either this season or next. The increase in central ice mass of the GIS, is simply due to increased precipitation, due to increased water vapour in the atmosphere, a direct result of global warming. However, the increased precipitation (snow fall) does not balance out the net ice/fresh water loss from GIS thawing. Sea levels ARE rising, albeit relatively slowly at present, but still scheduled to rise as the cryosphere melts. Ultimately the planet will experience a rise in sea level that will render ALL current coastal habitation impossible. The WAIS is also regarded as 'unstable' due to thawing from beneath. Unlike the EAIS, which is formed on the main Antarctic continent, above sea level, the WAIS is grounded on the West Antarctic Rift Zone, which is below sea level (submarine) thus warming Southern Ocean waters are increasing the thaw rate of the WAIS. Global warming is FACT. It is not a hoax, many hard working field scientists have proven this fact and 97% of scientists (not employed by Exxon. are in unanimous agreement that Accelerated Global Warming is now underway and that it is anthropogenic (caused by human activity. All the information required to re-educate yourselves and purge the mis/disinformation that you have absorbed is available here on line, from any University Campus with peer reviewed scientific papers readily available. You either get with the program and clue yourselves up, or remain ignorant of the facts and watch and weep.

Beware whenever they make movies like this some crazy ass shit like this is around the member the initials ELE, extinction level event. Plenty of comments about how clearly that was a tsunami coming so Ill just say damn, that water looked soooo cold. If Im ever gonna be drowned by a tsunami please let it be somewhere hot. Tahitis fine, or Acapulco, somewhere cheap but not gaudy, maybe with some spending-money and a casual companion. You set that up for me and Ill happily go stand in front of your tsunami, but those are my terms, take it or leave it. The balls in your court. Nothing I will remember this movie for. Last 30 minutes were mediocre at best. Thanks for this video! I like my trips to be in the middle of no where. Away from people. This looks amazing! Just returned from Iceland and I was looking for something a long those lines. A friend suggested Germany but it seems crowded. You'd go there for the cities it seems. My only question is how expensive is Greenland? Iceland ate into my budget a bit. and that's putting it lightly.

Omg this reminds me of the classic horror film where you yelling at the TV saying run run run when you have the chance. Then they start running and they scream all the way so you like shut up shut up why are you screaming argh this clip is just as frustrating.

Thank you very much for thoughtful, provocative documentaries, a breath of fresh air. I'm 66, so I find these kinds of documentaries extremely interesting. Have always been fascinated by stories of exploration and human endeavor, and this film covers every aspect in details. Kudos to the original writers and cinematographer. Thank you for posting. By saying Coming Soon I do hope they're talking about the movie... A great documentary is like a time machine, so captivating & relaxing it takes you far away from the drab & boredom of everyday is one of those productions! Thank you sir. So we're supposed to root for this guy and his family while the rest of humanity burns. OK.

Greenland el ultimo refugio trailer. The nuclear core was removed shortly after the camp was decommissioned. As for the political controversy promoted by the nuclear power source, it is bunk. Danish liaisons were not only part of the planning, but also took part in the environmental monitoring. What everyone got worked up about was the vertical ablation of the camp into the ice. By 2090, with earlier projections, what is left of Camp Century will be 67 meters below the surface. There are several areas where future liquid meltwater can mix with some PCB's from insulators and other electrical materials (like transformers) left behind to pollute the water, long before it could be detected. However, due to the current warming trends at the northern pole, the ice sheet melt will soon overtake the vertical ablation and begin to expose the camp materials to the surface. Under the NATO treaty, the waste products are solely owned by the US Government and they will be responsible to remove it. At the moment it is being used as a barometer for the lifecycle for certain man made products in long duration cold.

Why is it uploaded twice. The actual vid is just 41 minutes long. Scam. The visuals really are well done; I was worried these would detract from the excellent content but youve struck a good balance, finding visuals that help set the scene but dont over do it or make it cartoonish. About the sun it's Depends where you are in geographical in Greenland. Even we talk kalaallisut (greenlandic language) we have different dialects, which also depends where you are from, just like other countries have multiple dialects. This is a solid disaster movie that never bores the audience with unexpected twists like whom the government choses, who is allowed on to the rescue planes and a cynical kidnapping. We were looking for an action movie and got it, no doubt!
Why we won't rate this movie top score is because of the unlikely and romantic ending with birds in the sky, the undoubtedly survival of the human race and never ending resources of insulin. Morena Baccarins surreal lip job is also an annoying factor, though she is a good actress it is hard to focus on her acting when the lower part of her face sometimes looks completely anemic.

I already watched some of his documentations, and I am VERY impressed! So much extra info, I NEVER heard before about these topics. So well explained, no hectic video effects, calm education. BRAVO! Hopefully more to come. Ittoqqortoormit? I thot it was “Eat Cut Kit Door Meat”. If you're coming here looking for a good documentary, you're going to be pretty disappointed. This is basically a really long global warming ad. Just a fair warning, watch at your own risk. Just trying to save you some hour of your life. You're welcome.

The movie should be called 2012 eight years later. REVIEW - GREENLAND
Firstly this is not like any of the other metior films you may have seen previously, why?
Basically a previously unknown metior is heading towards earth, no one can be sure where it will strike and random people are chosen to go to shelters in Greenland, you follow the story of one such family trying to get to one of these shelters.
Cone on! How stupid do you think we are? An unknown metior and not knowing where it will impact, with all of the resources at our disposal this is simply not true.
In this film in some ways it is more realistic compared to other similar films where the metiors seen to aim themselves but in order ways it is actually very annoying.
Annoying because 2 major parts of this film were included just to ramp up the suspence but for me both I felt. br> Firstly if someone was chosen to go to a shelter you would think the government would know of a long term medical condition, secondly if a married couple wanted to steal the wrist bands why not simply steal them both and not do what they did with the son?

What promised to be an excellent film because of the above actually turned out to be quite a disappointment and honestly just skip the first 90 minutes of the film trying to build up the characters because you honesty don't care about them.
